Homebuyer's Workshop
The Homebuyers Workshop is the first step in the homebuying process as a NACA Member. NACA has developed a comprehensive housing counseling program to prepare Members for homeownership and become qualified to obtain affordable mortgage financing. This includes access to NACA’s extraordinary mortgage product, which enables affordable homeownership – with no down payment, no closing costs, no fees, no mortgage insurance, and a below-market fixed interest rate (“NACA Mortgage”).
During this self-paced homebuyers workshop you will learn the following:
1) NACA’s History
2) The NACA Mortgage
3) NACA Qualification (Part 1 - Part 3)
4) The Member Portal and Intake preparation.
Housing Counseling
The cornerstone of the NACA program is the comprehensive one-on-one counseling offered by NACA’s Counselors. After you complete this self-paced homebuyers workshop you will be able to create your NACA ID and access the Member Portal to prepare for your appointment. Once you upload necessary documents and complete the required sections of the Member Portal you can schedule a counseling appointment, with your assigned NACA Counselor
NACA’s Member Portal puts the Member in the driver’s seat while providing you updates on your file, the status, next steps, and much more to facilitate the homebuying process, as described in this workshop and corresponding workbook. Your NACA Counselor will work with you to become a homeowner and/or improve your financial management. NACA’s counseling is based on a thorough analysis of your financial situation to determine whether you are ready for homeownership, or what you need to do to get there if you are not. Your NACA Counselor will also work with you to determine the monthly mortgage payment you can afford over the long term while maintaining a comfortable standard of living. You must complete the housing counseling program and become NACA Qualified before you are eligible to apply for the NACA Mortgage. We look forward to your active participation and becoming a homeowner with NACA
